Red Balloon 02:40
The day we said goodbye, I saw a red balloon Floating through the sky, I was afraid of what it could do The ocean’s over there – I see it through the trees What if it goes landing there? I pray it hits the beach The day we said goodbye, it felt more like hello To something just so right – I am afraid of what I know The ocean of my heart, the moon behind your ribs What if it all falls apart? I’ve never felt like this So, did we meet too soon on a crescent moon On that island off the bay? Did we play a tune like a red balloon Was it meant to float away? I want you to stay, I want you to stay. Did we meet too soon on a crescent moon On that island off the bay? Did we play a tune like a red balloon Was it meant to float away? I want you to stay, I want you to stay, I want you to stay, I hope that you stay.

Cuando sentiré mi hogar en mi voz? translation: When I look outside, when I look inside When I look outside again From the periphery, to the very center I am always the judge and the witness When will I know how to decipher my reason? When will I feel at home in my voice? When I look at the water, when I look at the sky When I look at the water again From the deepest place, to this very moment I want to be the bird and the fish When will I know how to decipher my reason? When will I feel at home in my voice? In my voice

about

In the midst of all the turmoil of the last 8 months, these songs rose to the surface. One in English, one in Spanish. One about falling in love with another person, one about learning to love yourself.

The thread that binds them is something so simple and so necessary to getting by, these days: hope. It’s so easy to feel lost when the ground keeps shifting underneath you. These songs acknowledge the pain of living, but they ring in the key of hope. At least, that’s the intention.

Whether you speak English or Spanish, both or neither, these two songs are meant to help you keep the hope alive, here and now.

Love,
Alisa Amador
