Timing 03:53
I don’t know where it is I’m going. I don’t know what it is I know Most of the time, I think I blindly feel around just to see how life will go. You came to me without a warning So overwhelmed, under-prepared And in our hearts, three words are forming, and now we’re both just scared. What did I tell myself when I first felt the flame? “Don’t you open yourself up to another strand of pain.” I knew that the timing wasn’t the right one, what a shame. I’m getting tired of being right. Why am I right again? You write to me every morning You write to me every night Most of the time, I wish that I could read your mind and I worry if that’s right. And I can’t help it if I worry, no And I can’t help it if I care I know that there is not a hurry with this love, and that’s just what makes me scared. So, what do we tell ourselves, now that we’ve found the flame? “Let’s not open ourselves up to another strand of pain.” I knew that the timing wasn’t the right one, what a shame. But I am so tired of being right. Why am I right again?

Slow Down 03:08
Morning comes, I make the bed, I wish it wouldn’t end Every morning is a battle I can’t seem to win Morning comes and I’m afraid of what’s in store for me Will it be another day of running ‘round like everything is gone? If I write it in a song, will it slow down? Morning comes, I make the bed, I take a look around Every morning brings a question I can’t live without Morning comes and I’m afraid of what’s in store for me Will it be another day of running ‘round pretending all is fine? When the thought won’t leave my mind, can it slow down? Another day that I get lost in lists of what to do Running away, I’m at a loss of what to say to you Then another night I give up the fight Will it be alright? Morning comes, I make the bed, I wish it wouldn’t end Every morning is a battle I can’t seem to win Morning comes and I’m afraid of what’s in store for me Will it be another day of running ‘round like everything is gone If I write it in a song, will it slow down?

What a world we live in with its endless charms Blinded lies keep winning over open arms Crescent moons and party tunes and strange hands in the dark Morning suns beside the ones far too afraid to notice who you are They refuse to fix what broke A ruse: a plume of smoke The bruise of words unspoken The truth is burnt & broken What a world we live in with its endless charms Sticks and stones and systems built to cause you harm Locker rooms and cryptic runes of texts sent in the night “boys will be boys,” “men and their toys,”– Narratives that make this shit alright When they refuse to fix what broke A ruse: a plume of smoke The bruise of words unspoken The truth is burnt & broken They refuse to fix what broke A ruse: a plume of smoke The bruise of words unspoken The truth is burnt & broken

Alone 03:51
I can’t relax with you staring at me like that I know that mask And I gotta commend you for your act, but I don’t fall for shit like that no more So turn your back I’m sick of giving you a chance I know that dance And I gotta commend you for your moves, but I am gonna kill these blues alone Alone, isn’t all that lonesome When you’ve got some love in store Alone, you’ll never be lost If you’re the one you’re looking for I can’t believe That those who say that love is weak Are first to speak With the weapon of liquor in their fist They can kill you with a kiss, but no more: So clear to see now That all this fear of being free Took over me With the armor of truth inside my heart I know I don’t have to play that part no more Alone, isn’t all that lonesome When you’ve got some love in store Alone, you’ll never be lost If you’re the one you’re looking for Ooh, just think about it with me for a moment You’re the first one that you talk to in the morning You’re your number one life companion And if you live together there’s no if or whether you should treat yourself better try to treat yourself better Alone, isn’t all that lonesome When you’ve got some love in store Alone, you’ll never be lost If you’re the one you’re looking for Alone, you’ll never be lost If you’re the one you’re looking for

Together 04:12
All of the people of all of the Earth, each with a piece of all this hurt Some take it in, some give it away, among other things that I can’t explain. Child-like wonders that wither and flicker and fade But when we’re together: opening heart. It doesn’t matter that all falls apart When we’re together – there lies the art. We’ll make it better when it falls apart. Will it always fall apart? All of the people of all of the Earth, each with a reason, a heart, and a worth Some devastate when you’re in their way, and dig themselves deeper in hopes that you stay Child-like blunders that cover up feeling afraid But when we’re together: wandering soul. We’ll build a ladder and climb out of that hole. When we’re together our only goal Is to make it better when it all unfolds. For it always does unfold (hum) (Together) (Opening heart) (For it always falls apart)
