ABOUT THE SONG
You know that feeling when your alarm goes off in the morning, and you're like, "noooooooooooo!"? That's how this song began. Hope this song helps you to cope with that feeling.
“Slow Down” is the second track on my forthcoming EP, Narratives. This song started quite literally on a morning when I was supposed to be making the bed and starting another intense work day. Wishing time would slow down, and trying to listen to myself through all the noise.
With retro stylings and a steady beat, this song is perfect for starting your own morning. Or, any time you need a little boost.

LYRICS
Morning comes, I make the bed, I wish it wouldn’t end
Every morning is a battle I can’t seem to win
Morning comes and I’m afraid of what’s in store for me
Will it be another day of running ‘round like everything is gone?
If I write it in a song, will it slow down?
Morning comes, I make the bed, I take a look around
Every morning brings a question I can’t live without
Morning comes and I’m afraid of what’s in store for me
Will it be another day of running ‘round pretending all is fine?
When the thought won’t leave my mind, can it slow down?
Another day that I get lost in lists of what to do
Running away, I’m at a loss of what to say to you
Then another night
I give up the fight
Will it be alright?
Morning comes, I make the bed, I wish it wouldn’t end
Every morning is a battle I can’t seem to win
Morning comes and I’m afraid of what’s in store for me
Will it be another day of running ‘round like everything is gone
If I write it in a song, will it slow down?

Alisa Amador’s music is a synthesis of the many styles she’s voraciously absorbed: rock, jazz, funk and alternative folk,
all wrapped in the spirit of the Latin music she grew up with. With a sound that NPR calls, “a pitch-perfect rendition of my wildest dreams,” her soulful singing, poetically incisive lyrics, and syncopated rhythms, are likely to make you cry, laugh and dance all within one set....more
